Hambre, as the title suggests, is a work of “ primary needs”; man-beast lies in wait hidden from the more and more refined overstructures of a social context which looks kindly permessive but, on the contrary, it’s not able to recognize and admit him in his innermost essence. Therefore the subject is distorted into a kind of complaisant actor, who is obliged to play in a circus where a hungry audience, eager of emotions, will decree his triumph or his decadence. .My male subject belongs completely to his contemporary, occidental way of life, sometimes being lost and continuously shot by information coming from the surrounding social context. He runs and slides through many different possibilities of being a certain kind of person and behaving , showing very clear but contrasting features. At the beginning he seems to be expelled from a woman like covering and finds himself sitting on a “glamorous seducer” sort of throne, loosing his natural irony by taking himself too seriously. Voices, sounds, noises from the big building stomach, the new ghetto where human bodies and consciences are confined and where many different microcosms meet and fight without finding the possibility of a common balance. This is the perfect scene of small and ordinary daily crimes, that are caused by forced cohabitations and fed with the lethal television gas.
